Ben jij een jonge jazzmuzikant uit de regio Arnhem, en wil jij met je eigen muziek of arrangementen op het podium staan samen met je muzikale helden? Dan is deze open call iets voor jou!
Vanaf oktober 2024 start Stichting Jazz in Arnhem met een nieuwe maandelijkse concertreeks: +one+one. De focus van deze concerten ligt op de nieuwe generatie muzikanten die zich begeven in de jazzmuziek in de breedste zin van het genre. Zij krijgen de mogelijkheid om een concert voor te bereiden en te geven samen met muzikanten die zij bewonderen.
Voor wie?
Deze open call is gericht op jonge jazzmuzikanten die woonachtig zijn in Arnhem of omgeving. Aanmelden kan t/m de leeftijd van 35 jaar.
Hoe werkt +one+one?
Elke editie mag een geselecteerde deelnemer zelf een trio samenstellen.
De jonge muzikant kiest tenminste een van diens muzikale helden uit om mee te spelen, en nog een derde lid. Dit derde lid mag nog een muzikant zijn, maar ook een kunstenaar uit een andere discipline.
Praktisch:
- De eerste concertdata zijn maandag 14 oktober, 11 november en 9 december.
- Je bereidt een set voor van 45 minuten. Na de pauze is er ruimte voor een sessie.
- Je bent zelf verantwoordelijk voor de planning en voorbereiding van het concert. Jazz in Arnhem kan wel ondersteuning bieden in de vorm van repetitieruimte.
Wat Jazz in Arnhem biedt:
- De kans om op te treden met je muzikale helden, om avontuurlijke samenwerkingen aan te gaan.
- Een intiem optreden in Bar Restaurant Nelson
- In overleg repetitieruimte op ArtEZ of in Bar Restaurant Nelson
- Een redelijke gage voor jou (en je bandleden)
- Jazz in Arnhem begeleidt en ondersteunt jouw proces.
Aanmelding en beoordeling

Je kan je aanmelden tot en met woensdag 28 augustus. De geselecteerde deelnemers worden uiterlijk woensdag 4 september op de hoogte gebracht. Bij de beoordeling zijn een aantal criteria cruciaal, zoals artistiek potentieel en diversiteit van de deelnemers.

OPEN CALL FOR YOUNG JAZZ TALENT: +one+one concerts [English version]
Are you a young jazz musician from the Arnhem region, and do you want to perform your own music or arrangements on stage with your musical heroes? Then this open call is for you!
Starting in October 2024, the Stichting Jazz in Arnhem will launch a new monthly concert series: +one+one. In this concert series, the focus will be on the new generation of musicians, who are active in jazz music in the broadest sense of the genre. They will be given the opportunity to prepare and perform a concert together with musicians they admire.
Who is this for?
This open call is aimed at young jazz musicians from Arnhem or the surrounding area. Applications are open up to the age of 35.
How does +one+one work?
Every edition, a selected participant can put together a trio.
The selected musician must choose at least one of their musical heroes to play with, and a third member. This third member may be another musician, but also an artist from another discipline.
Practical:
- The first concert dates are Monday October 14, November 11, and December 9.
- You will prepare a set of at least 45 minutes. After this set, there will be space for a jam session.
- You are responsible for the planning and preparation of the concert. Jazz in Arnhem can provide support in the form of rehearsal space.
What Jazz in Arnhem offers:
- The chance to perform with your musical heroes and to engage in adventurous collaborations.
- An intimate performance at Bar Restaurant Nelson.
- Rehearsal space at ArtEZ or Bar Restaurant Nelson.
- A reasonable fee for you (and your band members).
- Jazz in Arnhem will guide and support your process.

The deadline for registration is Wednesday, August 28. The selected participants will be informed no later than Wednesday, September 4. A number of criteria are crucial for the assessment, such as artistic potential and diversity of the participants.
